Unique Medical Identity Card (UMID)
Salient Features:
1. UMID is a smart health card system
in Indian Railways. Providing Unique Identity to all medical beneficiaries
individually, through a unique number.
2. Strengthen with unique smart feature of web-enabled QR code and Biometric identity and Common database at all India level. Web and mobile application help in identifying and e-validation of identity of medical beneficiaries across Indian Railways.
3. Registration, Approval and UMID Card
Generation Process is done completely on Electronic Platform also Registration
for change of Health Units across units is facilitated on online application.
4. Hospital-wise Registered users
database will facilitate debits and credits initiation.
5. Automatic Generation of OPD Slips
also Interfacing
with Referral Hospitals authentication possible through Biometrics and Interfacing with Hospitals tied up under CSTE
scheme is possible for authentication through Biometrics.
6. Universal Applicability to use the
same software for any number of units or for Indian Railways as a Whole.
7. Biometric & QR code systems
along with integrated database of Pan Indian Identity numbers that is PF number / PAN/ Aadhar/ PPO/ Registered
Mobile number etc to facilitate identity without physical card also.
8. Continuous Validation Mechanism
for regular updation of beneficiaries with back-end process. Thereby the cards
are updated automatically for downloading anytime by employees in their mobiles
or computers.

Three Step Process of UMID
Card Registration and Apply:
1. Access:
a. Web Application URL:
b. Mobile application @ (Google Play
Store)
2. Registration:
a. Choose Type of Beneficiaries
(Employee/ Pensioner/ Other's)
b. Identity Particulars (PF number,
DOB and PAN). c. Mobile Number Registration.
3. Initiate Application:
a. Login through OTP, Initiate New
Application
b. Fill up details of Self and Family
Members.
c. Upload Relevant Documents (as per
checklist) and submit.
Download Medical ID Card
1. After approval download ID card to
use in Hospitals.
2. Save Id card in Mobile through
Mobile App.
3. Print ID card on plastic card.
4. Print only QR code (even on plain
paper).
